FAQs

What kinds of music can Tempi detect?

Tempi works best when there’s a distinct “pulse” to the song, like a kick drum/snare or a repeating chord, and assumes the track plays at a consistent tempo. With less structured music it still does quite well but may occasionally report incorrect tempos.

Can I use Tempi with my entire band at the same time?

Absolutely! Tempi works great with your entire band playing at once, and is a great way to make sure everyone keeps a consistent tempo across the entire performance.

How do DJs use Tempi?

Tempi instantly detects the BPM of any track you’re playing, making it easy to match tempos for seamless transitions and perfect beat mixing. Whether you’re beatmatching by ear or need a quick BPM reference, Tempi gives you accurate real-time tempo information to keep your mixes tight.

The screen’s too bright while performing at night! Is there a night mode?

Tempi has many different themes, and a few (Night Red and Pitch) are perfect for use in low-light situations.

The reported tempo is way too fast or way too slow. Why?

Tempi normally reports BPM in the range of about 70-140. If you want faster than that, tap the multiplier button in the top right corner till it shows "2x". If you want it slower than that, tap it until it shows "1/2x".

How do you pronounce “Tempi”?

TEMP-ee!
